The Bulsho Fund works with communities across Somalia to solve the humanitarian and development challenges they face through an inclusive, participatory process. We aim to provide direct, unrestricted and flexible funding through a simplified grant-making framework, rapid in-kind procurement and match-making with individual and institutional donors. The Fund is owned by the Somali people in perpetuity and is managed by a secretariat and an oversight body who volunteer their time and expertise. Bulsho Fund exists to ensure that communities are not locked out of the humanitarian and development decisions that most affect them. We place communities at the center of their own development and resilience. We trust people to know how they need be helped. We also aim to rewrite the risk narrative by giving direct funding and working with communities to determine what has the most impact.
