Bulsho Fund

How it Works

The Fund works with communities through two processes:

Youth ambassadors/anchors

who advocate for their communities and facilitate solutions to address challenges they encounter. This approach recognizes the indelible work of young Somalis who form a majority of the population (65% under the age of 30) and have been disenfranchised from the humanitarian and development discourse.

Community prioritization/consensus

community events where stakeholders equitably participate to discuss and chart a way towards long-term resilience and development.

Both pathways have the same objective of empowering communal citizenship and reinvigorating community safety nets. They also aim for the same outcome of facilitating direct and flexible funding to help communities build long-term resilience.
